WORLD ORDER in Cebu, PH!
They have won our hearts with their Matrix-esque maneuvers and captivated us with their unprecedented robot-like synchrony. They have stunned the world as they gyrated in coordination with their upbeat electronic and inspiring music. This boy band from Japan dreams to not just entertain their fans. They aim for something bigger - they wish for harmony and just like what their band name suggests; they want WORLD ORDER.

In the summer of 2019, our team at Jones Silva Creatives, a team of videographers in Cebu took on a journey that forever changed our name in videography - collaborating with the world-famous Japanese human robots, the World Order. If you don’t know who they are, you better google them, and you’ll surely be surprised that this boy band is a big deal not only in Japan but also in the entire world.
Working with the Robots
Known for their robot-like dance moves, the World Order is an all-male boy band of 5 members whose signature looks include wearing black suits, well-styled hair, and exceptional synchrony. With a YouTube channel amassing over 184 million views and 690 thousand subscribers, this Japanese boy band is indeed a public figure. The World Order’s music and superbly choreographed routines have been well received internationally, with more than half of its fan base coming from outside of Japan.

But how did it feel like working with the World Order? Well, to say it was amazing would be an understatement because it is absolutely beyond that. This boy band is not just any of those local celebrities, but they are Global Icon!

And when you say ‘Made in Japan’, you would surely think of two words: perfection and quality.

When the news about them planning to make a music video for their latest music entitled “WE ARE ALL ONE,” we got excited for two reasons. We’re glad because finally the beauty of Cebu will be featured globally and we’ll get the chance to see them at a distance. We are ‘stanning’ them! But when QQEnglish phoned us and told us they wanted my team of Cebu videographers and photographers to be their official partner, we couldn’t be any happier. It was a wild dream coming true!

We were at a loss for words when the offer was given to us. Our team at Jones Silva Creatives were clothed with mixed emotions, not because we were scared, but because this is a huge project we all did not see coming. We were thrilled by the collaboration, but also anxious about the expectation they have from us. Yet, we believe the project was meant for us. So we set all the fears aside and just told ourselves, “We’ll make this big! Let’s go!”
The month-long planning begun and right in front of us were the members of the World Order. We sat down on a meeting with Genki Sudo countless times. If you guys did not know who Genki Sudo is, he’s just one of Japan’s most celebrated martial-artists-now-turned-politician. I repeat, Japan’s most celebrated martial-artists-now-turned-politician! He’s a man of talent who enjoys incorporating social and political satire in his music videos. During our talk, he was quick to present what he wanted in the music video and we were all in awe of his vision for the project. It got me silent, but the back of my mind was telling me; you got to show him what you got!

The day came and my creative team juggled different tasks on the same day: aerial photography and videography and video directing, all this happening simultaneously.

We started the day capturing the pristine white sands and the sparkling blue waters of the beautiful Mactan Island. And who wouldn’t miss to include the ravishing mansion at Casablanca situated in the neighboring island-paradise of Olango? Together with the other casts of the music video - teachers and staff from QQEnglish - we wrapped our first day sun-kissed and tanned.

Although we kicked off the first day with a bang, the second day was even grander! As the sun shone on the beautiful horizon of Mactan Island, everyone was already geared for the grand finale of the music video. Supporting casts on bikinis, other dancers went on full drag look, foams splashing around, the whole venue was filled with spectacles that made the experience and the outcome of the video more than extraordinary! Our photographers and videographers truly did not expect how things have turned out with this project. It was more than what we expected.

We Are All One
The experience we had in making the WORLD ORDER music video was truly an interesting piece of work because of the twist in its story. We, as videographers and creative artists, were very fascinated with the plot twists and transitions of the music video. It wasn’t just like a typical music video we see nowadays, rather, it was a music video implying social issues relevant to modern-day society - social injustice, unemployment, and the pivotal rule of unity and oneness in the oppression of such social maladies.

In the first portion of the video, you’ll see how a horrendous black company ruled by five ruthless leaders enslaving their constituencies learned their lesson. Both the heroes (WORLD ORDER) and the villains (Ruthless Leaders) fought for supremacy in a dance battle. The climax is revealed when the ill-mannered leaders transformed into “drag queens” donning flamboyant over-the-top dresses. A hilarious moment you’ll only see in this music video! But the grandest part is the finale participated by over 200 teachers and the WORLD ORDER. The video also featured something authentically Filipino: the world-famous Lechon de Cebu, the jeepney, tricycle, and baroto (traditional Filipino canoe).
All in all, it’s the message of the music video that makes it a must-watch for everyone: “WE ARE ALL ONE.” The plots and twists strongly conveyed a message that people cannot grow and prosper when they’re divided. They only grow when they come together as ONE.

The shooting was a big event. Besides my team of Cebu videographers and World Order, over 500 teachers took part just to make the event successful - from planning, conceptualizing, costume and props preparation, shooting, etc. The event might have used up such gargantuan effort, but our talented team of Cebu commercial photographers and videographers we’re able to make the video so grand and glorious.

With the video amassing nearly 1, 000, 000 views in YouTube, we’re confident to say WE MADE IT! But regardless of the views, it was the experience working with one of Japan’s most famous Boy Band that truly matters.
